[ Somewhere in all of that, he had said something very wrong, because Jayce's expression falls like someone punched him in the face, and he changes the subject so abruptly Viktor almost gets whiplash.

Mystified, Viktor just says: ]

Not at all? It is the door right next to the bedroom door.

[ What did he say? Was it the suggestion that Jayce teach him hextech? If they are to make a device to send Jayce back to his own time, that is all but necessary -- either that, or they invent a whole new branch of science, and Viktor isn't certain they have the time for that. Surely it couldn't have been the suggestion that Jayce take the couch. Should he have offered his bed, instead? No, it was surely the hextech.

As soon as Jayce goes, Viktor makes a little eh expression, shrugs to himself, and pulls out a fresh notebook to start making notations. The first item on the agenda: sketching the gem in Jayce's wrist, and noting down the rune carved into the surface of it. ]
